David Kidd is a long-time labour and community activist who was interviewed on July 4, 2024. He was a member and elected steward with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 79 which represents inside workers with the City of Toronto. In the interview, he discusses the importance and experiences of political education and action to make CUPE members more aware of the impact of governments at all levels on their lives. In addition, he discusses the experiences of working with the wider labour movement and community to ensure positive change. As a student of history, he has helped to re-discover Toronto labour history and make it relevant to the struggles of workers in the 21ast century.
